Our Story

Education

Each year, over 7,000 students join in Farm classes and Field Trips that teach about farm animals, animal care, and agriculture. These key programs provide entertaining lessons and interactive learning experiences that focus on life on a farm and how our food is raised: "from the ground to the table."

Additionally, hundreds of youth help Critter Barn's staff run the farm as Crew volunteers. This provides real “hands-on” education as young people in Critter Camp care for the animals and share their knowledge with visitors.

Events

Over 100,000 people experience Critter Barn each year, at the farm, and around West Michigan. Last year, our Farm on the Go! made 115 trips to schools, community events, retirement homes, churches, and company picnics, reaching over 40,000 people, while annual attendance at our 3-acre farm was over 65,000.

People have personal encounters with the farm animals and enjoy delightful lessons, engaging demonstrations, and amusing stories that educate and enlighten them about farming and the role of agriculture in our lives.
